The Dutch Prime Minister assures the President of the Republic of supporting Iraq and providing expertise in the fields of water and agriculture

Baghdad, The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received, at his residence in Davos, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

The President affirmed: “The election period was long, but the result was good in forming the government, as we benefited from the lengthy dialogues among the political parties that resulted in understandings that led to the formation of the government,” indicating that the government is serious about implementing its ministerial program and focusing its efforts on providing health, environmental and water services, housing, electricity and more.

The President stressed: “The consolidation of security and stability in the country occupies a priority in our approach, especially since the security situation is better than that of many countries in general.

The President of the Republic continued, “We have visited some Iraqi provinces and witnessed the reconstruction in many of them, despite the delay in approving the budget for three years, which hindered the process of starting strategic projects.”

On the relationship between the regional government and the federal government, the President of the Republic stressed that it is in an increasing improvement and this is in the interest of all of us, and we are currently working seriously to legislate the oil and gas law that will guarantee the rights of all, and to return the displaced to their areas, and to find a radical solution to their tragedy, stressing: “The blame lies with the international organizations that only took pictures and issued statements of sympathy.”

The President called for benefiting from the Dutch experience and expertise, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands affirmed his country’s position in support of the Iraqi people by providing expertise in the fields of water and agriculture, praising the pivotal role of Iraq in establishing stability and peace in the region, and also touched on the numbers of Iraqi refugees in the Netherlands and ways to solve the refugee problem.
