Industry Minister receives Thai ambassador

Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce received Piyapak Sricharoen, Thailand Ambassador to Bahrain.

The meeting reviewed bilateral relations and discussed topics of common interest.

The minister praised the progress of relations between the two kingdoms, noting the importance of enhancing cooperation to develop the economic partnership and achieve goals.

The ambassador expressed his country’s aspiration to develop bilateral relations, wishing Bahrain further prosperity.

PM Announces The Implementation Of A Sewage Water Treatment Plant Project

Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani announced today, Thursday, the implementation of a sewage water treatment plant project in Maysan Governorate.

The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement, “Al-Sudani instructed the disbursement of compensation for the floods for previous years, amounting to 90 billion dinars, for the affected people from the province.”/ End

HM King praises Fakhro family’s national role

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received, at the Al-Safriya Palace today, several Fakhro family members, led by Dr. Ali Mohammed Fakhro, who presented HM with a book entitled “The Fakhros of Bahrain – Merchants and Reformers”.

The recently-published book was written by businessman Adel Abdulla Fakhro.

HM the King lauded the Fakhro family’s role in serving the nation, citing their good contributions to the kingdom’s commercial, investment and economic activities, as well as their initiatives to serve the Bahraini society.

HM King Hamad also commended the Fakhros’ honourable patriotic stances and keenness to consolidate the values of communication and solidarity that embody the authentic Bahraini values inherited from the forefathers.

HM the King expressed pride in Bahrainis’ ambitions, and constant keenness to serve the homeland, stressing that the kingdom’s citizens, from various religions and sects, enjoy the respect and admiration of the world thanks to the solidarity and love among them.

“We are keen to deliver the best for the citizens in all fields that enhance the status and progress of our homeland,” HM the King said.

HM King Hamad commended the efforts made to compile this valuable book, which documents the role played by the Fakhro family throughout Bahrain’s history.

Members of the Fakhro family expressed their thanks, appreciation and gratitude to HM the King for HM’s commendation of the Fakhros’ national role and contributions.

They wished HM King Hamad abundant health and happiness so as to continue bringing about more progress and prosperity to the nation.

OIC Chief meets Thai Deputy Prime Minister

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, expressed his appreciation to the government of the Kingdom of Thailand, an OIC Observer Member, for its longstanding support to the OIC, for the protection of Muslims’ rights in Thailand as well as for its fruitful cooperation with many OIC Member States mainly in Africa.

The Deputy-Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Don Pramudwinai, commended the OIC and reviewed the efforts made by his country to promote peaceful coexistence and the rights of Muslims.

He also recalled the contribution of Thailand, as an active Observer State, in promoting development cooperation with the OIC Member States.

Thailand and the OIC reaffirmed their commitment to take further actions to address common challenges better and build broader and deeper partnerships.

HM King receives HH Shaikh Ibrahim bin Hamad, Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received, in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Personal Representative, and Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Royal Court Minister, HH Shaikh Ibrahim bin Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, at the Al-Safriya Palace today.

HH Shaikh Ibrahim bin Hamad and Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad bin Abdulla extended deepest thanks and gratitude to HM the King for HM’s condolences to them over the passing of the late Shaikha Shaikha bint Hamad bin Abdulla bin Ibrahim bin Khalid Al Khalifa, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless HM the King with abundant health, happiness and long life.

HM King Hamad expressed thanks and appreciation to them for their noble feelings, praying to Allah the Almighty to rest the soul of the deceased in eternal peace, and to bless her family and relatives with patience and fortitude.

Deputy Speaker Meets Head Of Integrity Commission And Stresses The Resolution Of The Major Corruption Files

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, visited the Federal Integrity Commission building, during which he met with its president, Judge Haider Hanoun, and the advanced staff in it, to discuss a number of important files and issues.

Mandalawi, according to his office’s statement, praised the efforts of the Integrity Commission in following up major corruption files and the funds resulting from these operations inside and outside Iraq, stressing the importance of resolving the files that occupy public opinion as soon as possible, and working to recover funds with those wanted to enhance the citizen’s confidence in his official institutions.

He stressed the need to communicate and coordinate with the international side in the field of pursuing corrupt and wanted persons and recovering funds, and the importance of closer cooperation between the Council and the Commission regarding corruption files that are considered by parliamentary committees, especially the Integrity Committee, stressing the support of the Council’s presidency for the work of the Commission, and its keenness to legislate laws related to combating corruption, and the necessity of holding courses, workshops and events to enhance the skills of PMs in the field of fighting corruption, as well as what is related to the employees of the Council and the Commission.

The President of the Supreme Judicial Council Receives the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Dr. Faiq Zaidan, received today, Wednesday, the High Commissioner for Human Rights at the United Nations, Volker Türk, and his accompanying delegation.

A statement by the Supreme Judicial Council stated that the judicial procedures in dealing with human rights files, freedom of expression and combating torture were discussed.

Nechirvan Barzani And an American Diplomat Discuss Relations Between Baghdad and Erbil and the Region’s Elections

The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, met today, Wednesday, David Berg, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Iraq, and they discussed the situation in Iraq in general and the region in particular.

A statement issued by the Presidency of the region stated that during the meeting, they discussed the relations between Erbil and Baghdad, resolving the differences and outstanding issues between them, the importance of resolving internal problems in the Kurdistan region, holding the Kurdish parliamentary elections, the conditions of Sinjar district, and the religious components.

The Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Iraq expressed his happiness about setting the day for holding the elections for the Kurdistan Parliament, welcoming this step, while the President of the Kurdistan Region thanked the United States for its support for the elections.

According to the statement, the two sides agreed on the importance of implementing the agreement of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government to normalize the situation in Sinjar, and the need to protect the religious components.

A number of issues of common concern, and the situation in the region in general, was another aspect of the meeting, according to the statement.

Ambassador Al Jaber Meets with UN Special Envoy for Yemen

The Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Al Jaber, met today with the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg.

During the meeting, they discussed the Kingdom’s political, economic, development, and humanitarian relief efforts to support the Yemeni government and the brotherly Yemeni people to mitigate their suffering.

They also discussed ways to strengthen and support the efforts of the United Nations to reach a comprehensive political solution to end the Yemeni crisis and support its security, stability, and development.

Afro-Asian Affairs Chief participates in ACD meeting

Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Fares Al Dhaen, Chief of Afro-Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs chaired the virtual meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD).

Dr. Pornchai Danvivathana, ACD Secretary-General attended the meeting.

Dr. Ejlal AlAlawi, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health participated in the meeting representing the Health Ministry of Bahrain.

Al Dhaen stressed the importance of the vital role played by regional mechanisms in achieving the goals of the United Nations for sustainable development goals (SDGs) and further enhancing integration between the economic, social, environmental, and other dimensions.

She underlined the importance of utilising opportunities to push for Asian unity and developing Asian cooperation to reach tangible results and coordination in all fields.

The ambassador expressed her appreciation to the ACD Secretary-General and state members for the support they gave to Bahrain during its term leading the ACD.
