Minister of Islamic Affairs Meets with Grand Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Today, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawa, and Guidance, Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, received the Grand Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sheikh Husein Kavazovic, and his accompanying delegation. This meeting took place at the headquarters of the Islamic conference titled “Communication with the Departments of Religious Affairs, Ifta, and Sheikhdoms in the World,” scheduled to occur in Makkah from Muharram 26 to 27, 1445 Hijri. The conference will see the participation of 150 scholars and muftis from 85 countries.

Extending a warm welcome to the Grand Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina and his delegation, Al Al-Sheikh elaborated on the conference’s purpose. He highlighted that the forthcoming event aims to enhance collaboration and coordination among global departments of religious affairs, Ifta, and Sheikhdoms. This collaboration seeks to advance the values of moderation, tolerance, and coexistence while countering extremist and deviant ideologies and strengthening Islamic unity.

Sheikh Husein Kavazovic, in response, conveyed his deep appreciation and gratitude for the support extended by the Saudi leadership to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He further emphasized that hosting the conference in Makkah sends a profound message to the world regarding the Kingdom’s commitment to serving Islam and Muslims, as well as promoting the fundamental values of moderation and tolerance.

Today, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, welcomed the President of the Central Ahl al-Hadith Association and Pakistani Senator, Sheikh Muhammad Sajid Mir, along with the Director and Imam of Colombia’s Islamic Center, Sheikh Mohammed Matar. This meeting took place within the framework of the international conference titled “Communication with the Departments of Religious Affairs, Ifta, and Sheikhdoms Worldwide,” held in Makkah.

Al Al-Sheikh emphasized the presence of international delegations at the conference, which seeks to fortify the bonds of communication and integration among global departments of religious affairs, Ifta, and sheikhdoms.

The President of the Ahl al-Hadith Association expressed gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He praised their commendable efforts and unwavering support for Muslims worldwide.

The Director of Colombia’s Islamic Center lauded the meticulous organization of the International Conference on Integration and Communication. Saudi Ambassador hands over a copy of his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Non-Resident to State of Palestine and Consul General in Jerusalem to Advisor to Palestinian President

Today, the Saudi Ambassador to Jordan, Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, formally presented a copy of his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Non-Resident Ambassador to the State of Palestine and Consul General in Jerusalem. The recipient of these credentials was the Advisor to the Palestinian President for Diplomatic Affairs, Dr. Majdi Khalidi.

This handover ceremony took place at the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Amman, the capital of Jordan. The event was attended by the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Jordan, Atallah Khairi.

During the ceremony, both sides engaged in discussions that encompassed various facets of the relationship between these two nations. Their dialogue centred on reinforcing and advancing bilateral ties across diverse domains.

UAE President calls on youth to adhere to national values, traditions

UAE President His Highness Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received, at the Qasr Al Bahar, a group of young individuals to commemorate International Youth Day. During this gathering, His Highness conveyed his aspirations and hopes for the future leaders in the nation.

According to Emirates News Agency (WAM), President Shaikh Mohamed affirmed that the UAE consistently seeks valuable and innovative ideas from its citizens and residents. His Highness praised the role of the youth in enhancing the reputation of the UAE, helping it earn the respect and appreciation of other countries.

His Highness emphasised the importance of upholding the UAE’s intrinsic values as well as following its principles and respecting its customs and traditions. He further highlighted the value of positive role models in shaping their personalities and guiding them towards becoming responsible individuals. His Highness also emphasised the importance of valuing one’s family, displaying kindness and compassion towards parents, and fulfilling the responsibility of caring for them.

President Shaikh Mohamed said the UAE was making rapid strides, which he attributed to the clarity of its vision, its determination and strategy, and the speed with which decisions are made. He emphasised that the nation firmly believes in the crucial role its youth play in advancing the UAE’s development.

His Highness said the world was in a state of flux and faced numerous challenges. However, he added that the UAE maintains a well-defined long-term vision, and its citizens and residents actively contribute to realising this vision with enthusiasm and unwavering determination.

President Shaikh Mohamed said that global crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, had driven the UAE to leverage the latest technology to find innovative ways to attain food and water security by implementing techniques for desalination and rice and wheat cultivation, highlighting that the UAE is eagerly anticipating an unprecedented and significant advancement in this aspect, with the aim of attaining food security.

In conclusion, His Highness conveyed his best wishes to the youth for their future endeavours in serving the country.

Under the patronage of Mrs. Asma al-Assad , Syria launches national program for early detection of hearing deficiency in newborns

In the presence of First Lady, Mrs. Asma al-Assad ,the Ministry of Health on Saturday launched the National program for early detection of hearing deficiency in newborns.

This came during Mrs. al-Assad’s speech at the launching of the National Program for Early Detection and Intervention of Newborns’ Hearing Deficiency in Damascus .

The First Lady added that this is a common responsibility of all, and constitutes the spirit of the national program for early detection and intervention of neonatal hearing loss.

The First Lady stressed the importance of the health care as one of the most important criteria of the progress and advance of the societies, since it reflects the humanitarian and productive aspects for those societies, in addition to their developmental and social contents, as building a healthy man is a humanitarian and moral responsibility.

For his part, Health Minister, Dr. Hassan al-Ghabbash , said in his speech , stressed that this Program was successful thanks to the collective efforts of the Ministries of Health, Scientific Research and Higher Education, Defense and the Interior, as well as the Red Crescent Syrian Arab and the Syrian Organization for Persons with Disabilities (Aamal).

“We thank the First Lady for her support of the implementation of this program for almost two decades,” he added.

Dr. al-Ghabbash affirmed that the health sector will continue its humanitarian mission to serve patients, believing in Syria of hope and future under the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad and his directives.

Aamal Organization Board Member and Central Council for Disabled People Member Ali Turkmani indicated that despite all the challenges, terrorism and siege Syria faced during the war, Aamal managed, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, equipping more than 10 health centers for the early detection of hearing loss and another three for audiological research, in addition to performing around 244 cochlear implants.

For his part, the member of the Board of Directors of Aamal, David McPherson, explained that the program creates an opportunity for children to be productive individuals, and indicated that, according to the World Health Organization, around 466 million people suffer from hearing loss, and by the year 2050 this number will be more than 900 million.

Registration opens for ‘Ambassadors of the Nation’ programme

Registration for this year’s ‘Ambassadors of the Nation’ programme will remain open until August 17, Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) has announced.

The programme, which will be held between August 20 and 24 and be devoted to students wishing to study abroad, is in line with the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism ‘Bahrainuna’.

The ‘Ambassadors of the Nation’ programme will focus mainly on the achievements of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s comprehensive development project in the development, political, economic, social and cultural fields, among others.

The programme seeks to educate overseas students about the most important topics related to the Kingdom, promote national identity and the values of loyalty and belonging. It also aims to raise the participants’ awareness of the political, media, legal and human rights aspects, which contributes to confirming their role as representatives of the kingdom abroad.

BIPD indicated that overseas students, particularly new graduates, wishing to join the programme, shall visit its website (https://bipd.org/) and fill in a form in which they choose the language of study (Arabic or English).

BIPD said that this year’s edition will be presented by a group of Bahraini experts, and will cover five main topics, namely the diplomatic, social and human rights-legal fields, in addition to the political and media ones.

The Institute indicated that the programme has been updated to keep abreast of the rapid changes witnessed by Bahrain, adding that its ultimate goal is to prepare the participants to act as ambassadors of the kingdom while studying abroad.

The First Lady, Mrs. Asma al-Assad stressed that early detection of hearing deficiency in newborns is possible and available, and the results of treatment are highly effective, in case of the appropriate intervention is taken at the right time.

This came during Mrs. al-Assad’s speech at the launching of the National Program for Early Detection and Intervention of Newborns’ Hearing Deficiency in Damascus on Saturday.

The First Lady added that this is a common responsibility of all, and constitutes the spirit of the national program for early detection and intervention of neonatal hearing loss.

The First Lady stressed the importance of the health care as one of the most important criteria of the progress and advance of the societies, since it reflects the humanitarian and productive aspects for those societies, in addition to their developmental and social contents, as building a healthy man is a humanitarian and moral responsibility.

If the man is the springboard and the outcome of any provided humanitarian work or medical services, then children are ranked first in these services, the First Lady went on to say, adding that the safety of the children of any country reflects the safety of its society and generations, and thus the safety of its future.

While the national program is an important step forward in the field of health, it constitutes a “living embodiment” of the public health policies that Syria has adopted at an accelerated pace, Mrs. al-Assad said.

Mrs. al-Assad warned that the challenges at the national level are large and multiple, stressing that these challenges will not be a justification for not advancing at various levels and fields.

Mrs. al-Assad concluded the few minutes she has addressed the meeting by saying “Let’s, family, society and institutions, fulfill our duty towards those children so that the noble goal is achieved and that every child has a voice to be heard.”

Youth cornerstone of progress and creativity, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad

The Kingdom of Bahrain will join the other nations in International Youth Day 2023, which is observed worldwide on August 12 under the theme “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World”.

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President hailed youth strides in the Kingdom.

“Bahrain youth have become a global model through their devotion in various fields”, he said, hailing the royal care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He also hailed the role played by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, in supporting youth and engaging them as a key pillar of national development, in the prosperous era of HM the King.

He stressed the importance of the annual celebration which recognizes the achievements of trailblazers who are leading change, innovation and creativity to serve their societies and the world.

Role of Bahrain youth in supporting national development praised

Investing in young Bahrainis and supporting their projects is key to achieving the UN sustainable development goals, said the Minister of Youth Affairs Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi.

She paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, hailing royal directives and the national policies incorporated in the Government Action Plan, which contributed to empowering young Bahrainis.

The minister made the statement as the Kingdom of Bahrain joins other nations to International Youth Day 2023, which is observed worldwide on August 12 under the theme “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World”.

In the statement, she commended the role played by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, in supporting youth and engaging them in build the future of Bahrain.

“Bahrain has based its policy on investing in youth development in a modern, practical way”, she said, noting that Bahraini youth represent partners in development.

PM Announces The Implementation Of A Sewage Water Treatment Plant Project

Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani announced today, Thursday, the implementation of a sewage water treatment plant project in Maysan Governorate.

The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement, “Al-Sudani instructed the disbursement of compensation for the floods for previous years, amounting to 90 billion dinars, for the affected people from the province.”/ End
