Commission of Integrity reveals the issuance of an arrest warrant against the former governor of Salah al-Din

Baghdad, The Federal Integrity Commission reported that an arrest warrant had been issued against the former governor of Salah al-Din for deliberately committing a violation of the duties of his position with the intent of harming the interest of the state.

The Commission’s Investigation Department indicated that the investigation court specialized in integrity issues in Salah al-Din issued an arrest warrant against the former governor of Salah al-Din on the charge of contracting and disbursing an amount of (3,839,745,000) dinars to equip environment fogging systems with smoke along with the vehicles and cars designated to operate them, to combat disease vectors.

The department added that a large part of these systems were left in warehouses and were not equipped for health institutions. As a result of the governor distributing the vehicles designated for their operation to hospital directors for personal use, pointing out that the purpose of installing systems and fogging devices on those vehicles is to use them for the purposes designated for them.

It explained that Salah al-Din Investigation Office team, which investigated this case and referred it to the judiciary, revealed other violations that marred the contracting process by the former governor, represented by the fact that the contract was not completed through the General Company for Marketing Medicines and Medical Supplies, which is exclusively specialized in importing these systems, in addition to the lack of feasibility of the conclusion of the contract.

It confirmed that the investigation court specialized in integrity in Salah al-Din issued the arrest warrant based on the provisions of Article (331) of the Iraqi Penal Code No. (111 of 1969).
