Riyadh, The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, affirmed the Council’s support for all international efforts to enhance security, stability and peace in Yemen.
The Secretary General’s remarks came during his meeting today with the US Special Envoy to Yemen Ambassador Timothy Linderking at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.
He reviewed the UN efforts to end the conflict in Yemen, based on the truce announced by the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, and the need to intensify the efforts of the international community to exert pressure on the Houthi group, to engage seriously in the peace process to resolve the Yemeni crisis in accordance with UN resolution.
They also highlighted the importance of supporting the Leadership Council in the Republic of Yemen to achieve security, peace and stability in the country and support development efforts.
