National Cybersecurity Authority Renews Call to Register in Cybersecurity Accelerator

Riyadh, The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) renewed its invitation to local companies emerging in cybersecurity to register in the cybersecurity accelerator aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s entrepreneurship system and encouraging innovation in this sector, before the deadline expires next Wednesday, through its website www.nca.gov.sa.

NCA’s step aims to stimulate the local industry system in cybersecurity and link emerging companies in cybersecurity technologies with investors to expand their activities and develop their capabilities and targets enabling 40 startup companies within three years and provide financial support of more than SR6.5 million to the enterprises in addition to allocation more than 500 hours of guidance and direction for companies seeking to expand in this field.

NCA said that the accelerator comes within the ‘CyberIC’ program for the development of the cybersecurity sector, and aims to support local startups in cybersecurity, and encourage innovation to find creative solutions to cyber challenges related to several areas, including data protection, cloud security, internet of things security, artificial intelligence security and proactive information to cyber threats, in addition to increasing the number of companies specialized in cyber security, and raising the percentage of local content in the field to contribute to achieving national goals.

The launch of the cybersecurity accelerator comes in cooperation with its technical arm, the Saudi Information Technology Company “SITE” and in partnership with “Plug and Play”, which is one of the largest technology business accelerators in the world. This partnership will contribute to the development of business for startups through training and providing a supportive environment and suitability, in addition to follow-up, evaluation, and application of the best standards, as well as holding workshops and supportive meetings, exchanging experiences, and providing consultations.
