Iraq’s Ambassador To Saudi Arabia Visits The IJS And Praises Its Professional And Administrative Performance

The Iraqi Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Safia Al-Suhail, visited this morning the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate.

A statement by the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate stated that Al-Suhail met with the President of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad Al-Lami, and the members of the Syndicate Council, and praised the active and influential role of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate locally and regionally, given that the Syndicate of Journalists currently heads the Arab Journalists Federation, which makes the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate plays a pivotal role in Arab media work.

For his part, the President of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate gave an explanation about the nature of the work of the Syndicate, its media institutions, and the Syndicate’s branches in the governorates that are working hard to raise the status of the press and media in Iraq.

Al-Sudani Stresses The Importance Of Baghdad International Airport Being Suitable For The Capital And Reflecting Its Civilized Face

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, chaired today, Wednesday, a special meeting to discuss plans for the rehabilitation and development of Baghdad International Airport.

The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement, “The meeting witnessed discussion of the measures taken to announce the development and rehabilitation of the airport as an investment opportunity for specialized international companies, in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), in addition to preparing an economic feasibility study for this vital and important project.”

Al-Sudani stressed the need to “work according to an integrated vision, a specific timetable, and high specifications in order for the airport to become suitable for the capital, Baghdad, reflect its civilized face, and provide the best and finest services, whether for Iraqi travelers or arrivals to Iraq.”

President Of The Supreme Judicial Council Arrives In Morocco

The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, arrived today, Wednesday, in the Kingdom of Morocco, at the head of a high-level judicial delegation.

A statement to the media of the Judicial Council stated that the president of the council is visiting Morocco, based on an official invitation from his counterpart, the delegated president of the Supreme Council of the Judicial Authority in Morocco, Muhammad Abdu al-Nabawi.

According to the statement, the visiting delegation included the President of the Basra Appeal, Judge Adel Abdel-Razzaq, the President of the Nineveh Appeal, Judge Raed Hamid, the President of the Najaf Appeal, Judge Hassan Soudi, the Deputy Prosecutor General, Nawar Obaid, and the Director General of the Department of Judges and Prosecutors, Mrs. Lubna Moheb.

The delegation was received in the capital, Rabat, by the Secretary-General of the Moroccan Judiciary, a number of judges, and the Chargé d’Affairs of the Iraqi Embassy in Morocco, Botan Daza’y.

The visit comes, according to the statement, within the framework of consolidating judicial relations in order to achieve the exchange of experiences between the two brotherly countries.

Al Sayyed Al Amin praises Bahrain’s leadership support to interfaith dialogue

His Eminence Al Sayyed Ali Al Amin, member of the Council of Muslim Elders, affirmed Bahrain’s status and role in promoting interfaith dialogue, with the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

His Eminence spoke to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on the sidelines of the first meeting of the Permanent Committee of the Muslim-Christian Dialogue between the Muslim Council of Elders and the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue.

His Eminence Al Amin added that this meeting is one of the outcomes of the ” Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence”, which was held under the patronage of HM the King last November, and brought together His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican.

He said that today’s meeting comes in order to continue promoting the values of dialogue and communication between followers of different religions and cultures.

Al Amin said he had proposal of establishing a joint institute for religious studies that aims at spreading the values of tolerance, cooperation and dialogue between religions, as a way of delivering the forum’s humanitarian message.

He expressed his hope that the forum would continue to be held in Bahrain, which could serve as the permanent headquarters for the Permanent Committee for Islamic-Christian Dialogue between the Council of Muslim Elders and the Vatican, as this meeting is only the beginning of many that will undoubtedly take place in the future.

Health Minister, Syrian counterpart discuss bilateral health cooperation

Health Minister, Jaleela bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, today met her Syrian counterpart, Dr. Hassan Muhammad Al-Ghabash, on the sidelines of the 75th World Health Assembly (WHA), held here on May 21-30.

The minister stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in all fields, particularly health, calling for the need to intensify cooperation with all countries of the region through the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, in order to carry on developing and improving the performance of health systems, as well as raising their efficiency in a sustainable manner.

The two ministers discussed topics of mutual interest, including areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as the exchange of medical expertise and experiences.

The latest regional and global health developments were also reviewed.

The Syrian Health Minister expressed deepest thanks and appreciation to the kingdom for its ongoing cooperation with his country.

He also praised the tremendous efforts being made by Bahrain to develop the health sector, citing its keenness to implement health plans initiatives aimed at developing healthcare services.

On the other hand, the resistance responded with a series of attacks targeting its positions.

As for the calm, it is disturbed from time to time by intense flights of MK spy reconnaissance aircraft in the airspace of Naqoura, Tyre, and even the villages of Bint Jbeil.

Head of the Foreign Ministry’s Asian and Pacific Ocean Affairs Sector chairs high profile meeting for ACD Forum

Head of the Foreign Ministry’s Asian and Pacific Ocean Affairs Sector, Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Faris Al Dhaen, chaired today a work team’s high-profile online meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Forum. It was attended by ACD Secretary General, Dr. Pornchai Danvivathana, and representatives of the member states.

The meeting spotlighted the “Declaration of Bahrain” and the remarks of the member states about it, in preparation for the declaration of the 18th ministerial meeting which will convene under the presidency of the Kingdom of Bahrain this year, under the slogan “Post-pandemic Sustainable Recovery”.

Ambassador Al Dhaen voiced the kingdom’s appreciation to all the member states for their continuous support and active contribution during the kingdom’s presidency of the current session of the dialogue 2021-2023. She stressed Bahrain’s support to Asia Cooperation Dialogue Forum out of belief in the capabilities of the Asian continent and the benefits of joint action to share experiences.

The Kingdom of Bahrain is one of the founding members of the forum, based on a belief in dialogue as a developing process in which the Asian decision makers exchange views and experiences to build strategic relations between the Asian countries and regional blocs.

Comprising 35 Asian member states, ACD was set up in 2002 to boost Asian cooperation and promote relations between the Asian regional organisations, broaden trade and financial markets in Asia and boost competitiveness with the rest of the world.

Industry Minister opens first exhibition for Omani-Bahraini Products

Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Industry and Commerce Minister, opened the first edition of the SMEs Development Exhibition – (Omani-Bahraini Products), organized by Bahrain SMEs Development Society in cooperation with the Omani-Bahraini Friendship Society, the Bahraini Embassy in Muscat, and the Omani Embassy in Manama.

In the presence of MP Ahmed Al Salloum, Bahrain Society for SMEs Development Chairman, Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Bahraini Ambassador to Oman, Faisal bin Hareb bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Omani Ambassador to Bahrain, and Eman Al Doseri, Undersecretary of the Industry and Commerce Ministry.

Fakhro stressed the deep historical relations between the two countries and affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to enhance existing investment opportunities and build more partnerships with the aim to achieve development goals by adopting many programs and initiatives that support the national economy.

The minister and attendees toured the exhibition that hosts more than 32 entrepreneurs, which will continue until May 27.

Permanent Committee for Islamic-Christian Dialogue lauds HM King Hamad’s role in promoting peaceful coexistence

The Permanent Committee for Islamic-Christian Dialogue between the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue and the Muslim Council of Elders held its first meeting in the Kingdom of Bahrain to discuss ways for unifying joint efforts based on the role of religious leaders in facing contemporary global challenges and promoting Islamic-Christian dialogue and cooperation.

The Committee highlighted the significant role of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in strengthening the foundations of fruitful and constructive dialogue, with the support of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, noting the efforts of the Kingdom in reinforcing the values of peace and co-existence amongst all.

The Permanent Committee for Islamic-Christian Dialogue was established under a joint memorandum of understanding between the Abu Dhabi-based Muslim Council of Elders and the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue as a direct result of the historic meeting which took place in the Kingdom of Bahrain last November which brought together the Muslim Council of Elders and senior leaders of the Catholic Church. The meeting was attended by His Holiness Pope Francis, Pontiff of the Catholic Church and His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders.

In its final communique, the committee affirmed the importance of enhancing citizenship and abandoning the exclusionary use of the terms “minority” and “majority”. It also commended the Al-Azhar Declaration on Citizenship issued during the ‘Freedom and Citizenship: Diversity and Integration’ conference between Al-Azhar and the Muslim Council of Elders, as well as the principles stated in the Document on Human Fraternity and the Kingdom of Bahrain Declaration for Peaceful Coexistence.

The committee also stressed the significance of efforts by religious leaders in addressing the negative impacts of climate change and the dangers it poses to the future of humanity. It highlighted the role that interreligious and intercultural dialogue can play in enhancing the involvement of religious leaders and institutions in confronting climate change during the upcoming COP28 conference. It also expressed its support for the United Nations and the United Arab Emirates in organizing the COP28 conference to achieve effective solutions to address the negative climate impacts that threaten the future and well-being of humanity.

The Permanent Committee for Islamic-Christian Dialogue noted the need to prepare a future project that includes various initiatives to enhance dialogue among people of different religions, with a special focus on Islamic-Christian dialogue. It affirmed that the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi represents a civilized model that preserves the uniqueness of each religion. It also emphasized that the Abrahamic Family House embodies a practical application of the 2019 Abu Dhabi Document on Human Fraternity which was co-signed by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pontiff of the Catholic Church under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. The Abrahamic Family House serves as a foundation for humanitarian dialogue among people of different religions and a humanitarian basis for coexistence and human fraternity.
